People Matter To God
At our 10:30am Sunday gathering around 90 people meet who enjoy being together and celebrating the diversity and richness of God’s unique love for each one of us.
God Loves You
At Broadwater Baptist Church, we are a welcoming community of people seeking to know Jesus Christ and make His love known. We are a church for all ages and backgrounds, where everyone is invited to explore faith, grow in their relationship with God, and find a place to belong.
Our worship is centred on the Bible, shaped by prayer, and expressed through heartfelt praise. We believe that faith is lived out not only on Sundays but in our everyday lives, as we serve our communities, support one another, and share the hope found in Jesus.
Whether you've been part of a church for many years, are just beginning to ask questions about faith, or are simply looking for a friendly community, you'll find a warm welcome at Broadwater Baptist Church. We value genuine relationships, compassionate service, and creating opportunities for people of all generations to grow together.
As part of the local community, we're committed to making a positive difference through practical care, outreach, The Wave Café and partnership with others. Our desire is to be a place where lives are transformed by God's love and where everyone can discover the joy of following Christ.

Our Hopes and Beliefs
We are a Baptist Church, which means that we believe that everyone can meet with God personally and have a living relationship with Him, day by day, through His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We are part of the Baptist Union of Churches and if you want to find out more about this Baptist family, visit the Baptist Union web site. It is important to us to show and declare that ‘people matter to God’ and the blessing of being together and growing in faith together is equally important to us.
The encouragement is for people to declare their faith in Jesus through Baptism as a believer and to become a member of the Church. Church Membership is about belonging and saying “I want a say in the future of this church”. However we also ensure that this church is open to all and there is no sense of being “in” or “out”. We all matter to God at whatever stage of our spiritual journey we are on.
We recognise that we are also part of the much wider church, and so we welcome people of all Christian traditions to worship with us and share in our service of God. We have strong links with the other local Broadwater churches.
Our leadership team
Rev. Jason Gain
Minister
Jason has been minister of our church since 2016. He is married to Claire and they have three adult children and two grandchildren.
Paul Rycroft
Secretary
Paul has been a member of our church for 25 years, he is married to Lauren and they have one daughter.
Ted Jackson
Treasurer
Ted has been a church member since 2006. He is married to Sherrie and they have a good sized mostly grown up family.
Colin Philips
Deacon
Colin Phillips is a retired Baptist minister, my wife Jenny. He has 4 grown up children, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. I serve the church as a member of the preaching team and the pastoral group.
Barbara Seale
Deacon
Barbara has been at Broadwater
Baptist church for over 50 years and is married to John and they have a married daughter. Barbara is part of the pastoral team.
Ros Russell
Deacon
Ros is currently a Deacon and has been a member of Broadwater Baptist church for 15 years. She is a semi-retired supply teacher and has a daughter and granddaughter .
James Aylward
Deacon
James is husband to Kellie and father to Eli. He is involved in worship and facilitates as a Deacon.
Richard Marshall
Deacon
Richard is married to Maureen and they have been at Broadwater for 30 years. Since retiring he's been able to find a new purpose in volunteer work for St Barnabas, Chestnut Tree House and serving the church.
Will Ring
Deacon
William has recently retired from a career in the music industry. He has been at Broadwater since 2014. He is married to Jennie, they have two children and two grandchildren.
Rob Sadler
Deacon
Rob has attended our church since 2021 and has served as a Deacon since 2026. He is committed to supporting the ministry of the church and serving the congregation.
10.30am Sunday Service
This is our main time when we come together for praise and prayer, lasting just over an hour and is followed by refreshments. We passionately believe in, and enjoy a wide variety of worship styles, using the gifts of many of our fellowship.
Sunday Kids and Youth
Blast is our Sunday morning kids club when the emphasis is on fun and activity to show the relevance of Christianity to everyone. From crèche through to teenagers, they meet alongside our morning church service event and with a wonderful team of leaders, children and youth can be sure of a good time.

Minister
Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun! Ten years have flown by, and so much has happened along the way. Thankfully, through both the difficulties and the blessings, we have experienced so much of God’s passion, power and provision. These have sustained us and enabled us to look to the future with hope, trusting that we will see even more of the love of God revealed to the whole world through Jesus Christ.
Church Facilities
Pop in for a break with a drink and cake or stay longer for a fantastic meal. There is always a daily special on offer including a free cup of tea or coffee.
